I. Wiring Method of Leakage Alarm Wire for Medium-Frequency Furnaces

1. Preparation Work

Before wiring, first prepare the required tools and materials, including a leakage alarm device, connecting wires, a multimeter, a screwdriver, and a wrench. Before conducting any wiring operations, ensure the power supply of the medium-frequency furnace is turned off to prevent electric shock and equipment damage. Determine the wiring position of the alarm wire according to the design of the medium-frequency furnace and the instruction manual of the alarm device.

2. Connect the Alarm Device

  • Select Terminal Blocks: Locate the terminal blocks on the leakage alarm device, which are usually marked with labels such as "Leakage" and "Alarm".
  • Connect Cables: Use connecting wires of appropriate specifications, connect one end of the cable to the terminal block of the alarm device, and ensure a secure connection.
  • Secure the Connection: Tighten the screws on the terminal blocks with a screwdriver to prevent loosening.

3. Connect to the Furnace Body

  • Locate Terminal Blocks: Find the terminal blocks for leakage alarm on the control cabinet or furnace body of the medium-frequency furnace.
  • Connect Cables: Connect the other end of the connecting wire to the terminal block of the furnace body—these terminals are usually clearly marked as well.
  • Secure the Connection: Similarly, use a screwdriver to fasten the connection to avoid poor contact caused by vibration.

4. Test the Connection and Organize Wires

After completing the wiring, turn on the power again and observe whether the leakage alarm device works normally. You can test whether the alarm function is normal by simulating a leakage situation (e.g., short circuit) to ensure the sensitivity and reliability of the system. Once the alarm system is confirmed to work properly, organize the wires neatly to avoid wire crossing and interference. At the same time, use cable ties or insulating tubes to fix the wires, preventing wire wear or damage.

II. Precautions for Wiring the Leakage Alarm Wire of Medium-Frequency Furnaces

1. Ensure Power is Turned Off

Before conducting any wiring operations, be sure to confirm that the power supply of the medium-frequency furnace is turned off to avoid the risk of electric shock and equipment damage.

2. Select Appropriate Connecting Wires

The wire diameter of the connecting wires should meet the rated current requirements of the alarm device and the medium-frequency furnace to ensure stable signal transmission. It is generally recommended to use cables with good insulation performance to prevent short circuits and leakage.

3. Pay Attention to Polarity

When wiring, pay attention to polarity and ensure the correct connection of the positive and negative terminals of the alarm device. After wiring is completed, check that all connections are secure to avoid unstable signals affecting the sensitivity of the system.

4. Follow Manufacturer’s Guidelines

During the wiring process, follow the equipment manufacturer’s instruction manual and guidelines to ensure the wiring method complies with the manufacturer’s requirements, and avoid equipment failures caused by improper wiring. After wiring is completed, conduct a functional test: check whether the alarm device can issue an alert promptly by simulating a leakage situation to ensure the reliability of the system.

Although the wiring work of the leakage alarm wire for medium-frequency furnaces seems simple, it is particularly important for the safe operation of the furnace body. By adopting the correct wiring method and following relevant precautions, the safety of the medium-frequency furnace can be effectively improved, and the stability of the production process can be ensured.
